How the price is worked out

Most brands think in cost per 1,000 views. The calculator multiplies your average views by a rate per 1,000 views, doubles it for a dedicated piece, adds 50% for a specialist audience that brands pay more to reach, then adds a share for ad reuse and exclusivity. The lowest price is 25% under the target and the opening price is 30% above it, so you have room to negotiate.

Questions

Where do the starting rates come from?

They are round numbers in the middle of the ranges that creators and agencies often share in public. There is no official table, and real prices vary a lot by niche, country and engagement. Treat them as a first draft and change the rate as soon as you know your own market.

Should I use followers or views?

Views. A brand pays for the people who will see its message, and your follower count says little about that. Take the median views of your last 10 posts so one viral post does not inflate the price.

What is ad reuse, and why charge for it?

Some brands want to run your video as their own ad. That is new value for them and it can tire your audience, so it is priced separately, usually as a share of the fee for each month of use.

What does exclusivity mean?

The brand asks you not to work with its competitors for a while. You give up other deals during that time, so it is fair to charge for it.

A brand offered free products instead of money. Is that fair?

Only if you would have bought the product anyway and the work is small. A product is not a fee: you still spend hours making the content. Many creators answer with their rate card and a short, polite note.

Is anything I type saved or sent?

No. The calculator and the rate card run in your browser and do not store or send what you enter.
