What to put on the invoice
- Your name and how to reach you, and your business or tax number if your country requires one.
- The client’s name and the address you cleaned, so a landlord or office manager can match the invoice to the property.
- The date of each visit, or the period for regular cleaning (for example 1–31 October, 8 visits).
- What you did, line by line: regular cleaning by the hour, a deep clean as a fixed price, extras such as oven or fridge cleaning.
- Supplies on their own line, if you bring them and charge for them.
- When and how to pay: the due date and your bank details or payment link.
Hourly or per visit?
Regular clients usually prefer a fixed price per visit; one-off and end-of-tenancy cleans are easier to price as a job. Whichever you choose, put the number of hours or rooms in the description, so the client sees what the price covers.
If you charge for late cancellations or lost keys, write the rule in your agreement before the first visit, and quote it on the invoice when you apply it.
Questions
Can I invoice a month of regular cleaning at once?
Yes. Use one line with the number of visits or hours as the quantity, and the period in the description.
Do I need to charge VAT or sales tax?
It depends on your country and your turnover. Add a tax line only if you are registered; the tool lets you name the tax and set the rate. This is not tax advice.
